If you’re just starting out and are looking to begin a regular savings program, choose from any of these accounts. Your savings are federally insured up to $100,000 by the National Credit Union Administration. IRAs are seperately insured to a total of $250,000 by the NCUA.
- Member Share Account – Your primary savings account, which pays monthly dividends and can be used as overdraft protection for your checking account.
- You-Name-It SavingsTM – Use this account to set aside money for holiday shopping, a special vacation, insurance premiums, or other savings goals.
- IRA Share Account – An easy way to start saving for retirement with a minimum opening deposit of only $1.
- Clown Club Savings Program – A great way for members 12 and younger to learn the importance of saving.
- CU Succeed Teen Financial Network – Specially designed savings and money management program for members 13 - 17 years old.
If you have larger balances to invest and are looking for higher returns, consider these account options. Your savings are federally insured up to $100,000 by the National Credit Union Administration. IRAs are seperately insured to a total of $250,000 by the NCUA.
- Money Manager Account – Ideal option for maintaining emergency funds in a liquid account. Your funds are easy to access and earn higher returns for higher balances.
- Certificates – Safe, low-risk savings vehicles with terms from six to 36 months.
- Individual Retirement Accounts – Federally-authorized investment plans that offer tax-saving incentives to help you accumulate retirement or education funds.
